... puts the fun back in file navigation

Installation Basics

  1. Download and installation of tagstore (Windows, OS X, GNU/Linux)
  2. Creation of the first store using tagstore_manager
  3. Filing of data in the folder "storage" within the store created above
  4. Having fun when using the enhanced features when navigating the folder "navigation" (and/or folder "categories" when "My Tags" is activated)

The tagstore assistant guides you through the initial phase. When you are starting tagstore for the first time, it appears and explains the main features. Additionally, we can recommend you the video on the about-page. Please do note that this video was created with a much older version of tagstore which was lacking, e.g., the new recommendation system.

If you have any question regarding to tagstore, please do read the FAQs.

If you have got a question that could not be answered by reading the FAQs, please do write at tagstore-webcontact@Karl-Voit.at.

We thank you for your interest and wish you a pleasant time when using the great features of tagstore!

Windows

  1. Please download Windows installer for tagstore.
  2. If you are using Windows 7, please make sure that you have installed at least Service Pack 1. It is recommended that you have installed all Windows updates prior to tagstore.
  3. Please de-install any non-matching version of the following tools if already installed. For tagstore, you will need up to date version of those tools which are included in the Windows installer package.
  4. Install tagstore
  5. Re-start your computer
  6. Start tagstore_manager and do create your very first store.
  7. You don't have to start tagstore manually from the start menu. Windows should start tagstore on each boot process. Therefore: if you are creating your first store, tagstore should already be running in the background. Note: after you stored your first item in the newly created store, it might take a bit longer that the tagging dialog appears.
