The reason why I did not follow my pattern of blogging after each day of 35C3 was, that I got the dreaded "Conference Seuche" (plague) on the second day in the afternoon. Please do wash your hands often, when you are at a large conference like this. -------------- #+BEGIN_EXPORT html #+END_EXPORT Too bad, I stayed in bed for the most part of the third day. This put me on the edge. Not only because I missed things from the conference. On the evening of the third day, I held [[id:2018-12-28-35c3-orgmode][my talk about Org mode and how it can help people managing their (digital) life]]. #+BEGIN_EXPORT html #+END_EXPORT Fortunately, I recovered a bit so that I was able to do my talk. #+BEGIN_EXPORT html #+END_EXPORT #+BEGIN_EXPORT html #+END_EXPORT ***** General 35C3 Conclusions The conference was really huge. #+BEGIN_EXPORT html #+END_EXPORT Since most talks were not part of the official program, I concentrated on visiting things that were not recorded. I tried to speak with people, see interesting stuff, visit talks and workshops of the [[https://events.ccc.de/congress/2018/wiki/index.php/Static:Self-organized_Sessions][Self-organized Sessions]]. #+BEGIN_EXPORT html #+END_EXPORT The people at the conference were awesome. The organization is top, the Angels are doing excellent work. The food of the food trucks was Okay, the [[https://entropia.de/Tschunk][Tschunk]] was great. I have many [[https://media.ccc.de/c/35c3][videos to watch]]. ***** 36C3 I don't know if I will be joining 36C3 yet. #+BEGIN_EXPORT html #+END_EXPORT However, when I do come to 36C3, I most probably will try to help with organizing a decent "Church of Emacs" assembly. I started an Etherpad for interested people for brainstorming ideas and managing some tasks. If you're interested, please do reach out to me so that you'll get the link. #+BEGIN_EXPORT html #+END_EXPORT There should be more people who are interested and who are convinced that they should get interested in Emacs. Much room for improvement here. #+BEGIN_EXPORT html #+END_EXPORT Maybe I manage to get a talk in the official program. So far, I only got rejects for the recent years. This time, I try to submit a talk with a higher level of vision in contrast to emphasize the tooling aspect. Meanwhile, I have to come up with a cool topic for [[https://glt19.linuxtage.at][GLT19]] ...
