As funny as the fact that the average Austrian has no clue about the
American [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_of_music][The Sound of Music]] or its [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sound_of_Music_(film)][corresponding film]], the Brits do
have no clue about the popularity of an English sketch named "[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinner_for_one][Dinner
or One]]".

Since decades, [[https://www.youtube.com/embed/zVd_VLO9xcc?rel=0][this sketch is a must-see]] for large parts of Germany
and Austria on every New Year’s Eve:

I recommend it to everybody, because it is really a very funny piece
of art. Please do not spoil your fun by reading about it before you
watch the 18 minutes video.

Since I was quite familiar with the sketch since I was an innocent boy
who could follow most gags without understanding English at all, it
was a hillarious moment in my life when I finally understood the
ending joke not later than being in my mid-30s.
